An Occupational Therapist’s day is never dull!
Written by: Ashlyn Hudson, MOT, M. Ed
Pediatric OTs work with children to support areas such as fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, nervous system needs, and self-care abilities. OTs use play-based activities and exercises to strengthen muscles, improve coordination, and support self-regulation. OTs also look at ways to adjust the environment to better fit a child’s unique needs and abilities. Collaboration with caregivers is key…OTs help caregivers to incorporate helpful strategies and supports throughout daily routines where the greatest impact happens.
OTs aim to help children achieve their fullest potential! Check out what a day in the life of a pediatric OT might look like as KIN recognizes their important work during Occupational Therapy Month!
