Ace the Interview: Best Practices for Applicants

Whether you are a new grad beginning your career as a pediatric therapist, or are an experienced therapist looking for the next step in your career – this course will provide you with the support to interview well and land your dream position. Clearly demonstrating and communicating your knowledge, skills, and capabilities during the interview process can be difficult. Truly showing who you are and your value before the interview process even begins is extremely important and key when applying for a new position. We will review real, evidence-based strategies to succeed from the application process all the way through the follow-up and planning ahead. Be ready to dig deep and self reflect with us.

Following this training, participants will be able to: 

1. Define and implement at least 3 ways to set themselves apart prior to the interview.
2. List at least 5 strategies to concisely answer interview questions, including behavioral, experience-based, and clinical.
3. Identify at least 3 questions they can ask during the interview process to determine if this position is right for them and build connection with the interviewer.
4. Describe at least 3 tools to utilize to increase self awareness in determining if they are ready for this position and steps to implement to be successful.
   

Note: This course meets the requirement for Professional Development hours towards your ASHA renewal since it is approved by TSHA! You can count these hours towards ASHA renewal when you submit your Compliance Form.

Important for Texas OT practitioners: Although this course supports personal and /or professional growth and workplace effectiveness, the Texas OT Board does not currently recognize this topic area as eligible for continuing education credit for OT licensure renewal. Therefore, TOTA approval is not available for this course.
