Evaluating and treating Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is complex. It requires extensive training to fully understand all of the variables involved. Applying that knowledge and expertise into the pediatric home health setting adds additional variables that must be considered. How do I complete a comprehensive CAS evaluation on limited time? How do I justify services, show progress and write goals for CAS when health plans are involved? This course will provide you with those answers and applicable tips and strategies to use along the way.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
- Participants will describe at least 3 different ways to write CAS goals for the home setting.
- Participants will list at least 3 strategies for supporting documentation in a CAS assessment or re-evaluation to justify continued services for a health plan.
- Participants will list the four components of evidence-based practice for CAS.
