Ideal biomechanical alignment is compared to that of the Toe Walking gait pattern, & related consequences are addressed. Strategies for assessment & related intervention to improve stability & control are provided. In addition, emphasis is on the related orthopedic consequences and future effects of this diagnosis on postural control and ambulation.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify the correct age that most bone features are mature.
- Describe one specific way to correctly modify commercial/regular shoes in order to improve quality of gait.
- Participants will list two differences between the biomechanical alignment of ideal gait as compared to the Toe Walking gait pattern.
