Being a trauma-informed pediatric service provider means that we are actively trying to reduce the risk of causing harm, not only to our clients, but our coworkers and selves as well. Trauma-informed care changes the question from “what’s wrong with you?” to “what happened to you?” We must adopt this mindset with our clients, their families, and ourselves.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Identify when clients/students or self might be dysregulated
  2. Differentiate which pillars of trauma-informed care are/are not being used
  3. Formulate a plan for your moments of dysregulation in the workplace

This course meets the requirement for Professional Development hours towards your ASHA renewal since it is approved by TSHA! You can count these hours towards ASHA renewal when you submit your Compliance Form.
