In today’s world, learning is everywhere, but meaningful learning is not.
Too often, professional development becomes a last-minute task, something to complete rather than something to truly experience. But what if we approached learning differently? What if we viewed it not simply as a requirement, but as an opportunity for growth, connection, and meaningful impact?

Designed primarily for SLPs, OTs, PTs, and therapy leaders, this course explores how lifelong learning and effective teaching practices can elevate both professional development and clinical practice. This content is highly relevant and beneficial for those who currently teach, train, present, or share knowledge with others, as well as those who are interested in doing so in the near future.
Grounded in the principles of adult learning, this session examines what it truly means to show up as a lifelong learner, and how that mindset transforms the way we engage, teach, and support others, including our patients and caregivers.

Rather than focusing on any single platform or technology, this course emphasizes timeless principles and adaptable strategies that remain relevant even as tools and trends continue to evolve.
Participants will leave with a renewed perspective on learning, along with practical approaches they can immediately apply to create more engaging, meaningful, and effective learning experiences within healthcare and beyond.
Learning shouldn’t be something we finish. It should be something we live.

Following this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the impact of lifelong learning on professional credibility, learner engagement, clinical practice, and outcomes.
  2. Identify 3 key principles of adult learning and apply them to education, mentorship, supervision, and training experiences.
  3. Apply at least 3 practical instructional strategies to create more interactive and effective learning experiences.
  4. Evaluate how modern tools and technology can support strong learning design without replacing foundational educational principles.
  5. Select at least 3 learning approaches that enhance knowledge retention, participation, and real-world application.

This course meets the requirement for Professional Development hours towards your ASHA renewal since it is approved by TSHA! You can count these hours towards ASHA renewal when you submit your Compliance Form.

Important for Texas OT practitioners: Although this course supports personal and /or professional growth and workplace effectiveness, the Texas OT Board does not currently recognize this topic area as eligible for continuing education credit for OT licensure renewal. Therefore, TOTA approval is not available for this course.
