Overview

May 30, 2025 | 9-10am CST

This event is live only and will not be recorded.

Each year, more and more allied health professionals go to social media to find community and learn how to become better at their jobs. As these platforms gain more professionals, we need to ask ourselves tough questions about how this has impacted our profession. Social media is here to stay for the time being, but professionals need to be smart consumers of information and resources presented to them. This presentation will discuss what is going on behind closed doors and the ethics that surround engaging on social media.

Following this training, participants will be able to:

  1. List potential ethical violations that can occur on social media.
  2. Describe the pros and cons of allied health professionals engaging on social media platforms.
  3. Explain how the role that social media administrators’ and page owners’ have is filtering information available to those within their respective field.

Note: This course meets the requirement for Professional Development hours towards your ASHA renewal since it is approved by TSHA! You can count these hours towards ASHA renewal when you submit your Compliance Form. This course also meets the Ethics course requirement.
