This Course Has Ended
Fluency therapy is very individualized and therapy sessions can often be challenging for SLPs. This presentation will address a variety of treatment approaches for preschoolers, school aged children and adolescents for stuttering. It will specifically target addressing the feelings and attitudes of children who stutter and how to effectively counsel the client and their caregivers throughout therapy.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
1. State a variety of treatment strategies they can use to target a child’s feelings and attitudes about stuttering.
2. List at least 2 strategies they can use to target effective communication with children who stutter.
3. Write examples of treatment goals for children with fluency disorders and describe how to measure progress on the child’s goals.
This course meets the requirement for Professional Development hours towards your ASHA renewal since it is approved by TSHA! You can count these hours towards ASHA renewal when you submit your Compliance Form.
