Overview
This course explores practical and innovative ways occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech-language pathologists can use technology and artificial intelligence to support ethical, efficient and effective clinical practice. Participants will examine AI-supported tools for documentation, goal writing, treatment planning, progress monitoring and client education across a variety of clinical settings. Learners will develop foundational skills in prompt engineering, evaluate ethical considerations related to confidentiality, clinical judgment and professional scope of practice, and explore strategies for integrating technology into daily workflows. The course emphasizes maintaining discipline-specific clinical reasoning while leveraging AI tools to support functional outcomes, participation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
- List various technology and AI tools relevant to the role of a therapist.
- Discover strategies for integrating technology and AI tools into daily practice to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
