Overview

The class will cover common orthopedic injuries of the lower extremity and their diagnosis, treatment, and prognosis with special attention to exam techniques and therapeutic exercises suitable for the home health setting as well as the clinical setting.
Following this course, participants will be able to:
1. Describe key steps in the examination and treatment of common lower extremity injuries in the young athlete.
2. Describe exercises progression and loading principles as well as practice strategies for loading in the rehab of lower extremity injuries in the young athlete.
3. List at least 3 keys to assessing knee injuries in a young athlete.
4. Describe the differences in exam findings between ATF sprains and Salter-Harris 1 fractures of the distal fibula
